After spending 2 years in the customer service industry, I realised I needed a change. Something more creative and room for growth. That’s when I started searching for trending and useful growth related course, I stumbled upon this course of Digital marketing from UpGrad in collaboration with MICA, visually great. I was supported by career coach to guided with the industry change why this would work for me and I decided to enrol in with slight nervousness surely, but with excitement too.
A month into the course and it has been a rollercoaster ride, with a complete new industry and technicalities, from stepping into a whole new world of marketing strategies to figuring out WordPress like a pro (or at least trying to), this experience has been both exciting and, at times, a little overwhelming. But hey, isn’t that what learning is all about?
UpGrad introduced a brand-new Learning Management System (LMS) just as I started my course, and honestly, it is helpful as told previously there were many platforms to be used for different steps and it feel this update is great, no more juggling between emails, Google Drive, and random bookmarked links—everything is neatly arranged in one place. From lecture recordings to assignments and even mentorship sessions, it’s all right there, making life so much easier.
Starting something new can be stressful, but UpGrad has a great support system in place. We have buddies to help with site related issues, and checking in we are on time for every submission and classes. The mentors are our lifesavers. No question is too silly for them, they patiently guide us through every doubt, which makes it a lot less intimidating.
The Faculty – Learning from the Best
In just a month, I’ve already built a website from scratch using WordPress—something I never thought I’d be able to do this easily, I created a blog for my passion in bakery, feels like an accomplishment honestly.
This is just the beginning, we have lined up many interesting topics to cover and it feels surreal how one term “Marketing” can have so many elements. We will be going further with learning social media marketing, SEO, content strategies and paid ads. Can’t wait to learn and use these in real life.
Like any online course, there have been a few bumps along the way—occasional buffering issues and minor login glitches—but nothing too frustrating. The support team is quick to respond, and the faculty is always ready to help.
One month down, and I already feel like I’m building real-world skills that will help me grow in digital marketing. With SEO, social media strategy, paid advertising, and analytics lined up next, I know things are about to get even more interesting on this knowledge packed ride. Can’t wait to see where it takes me.
